Help

Short answers to the questions people ask most. If yours is not here, email hello@littlesips.co.uk and I will get back to you.

Logging feeds

Sharing with someone else

Everyone who feeds the baby can use the same diary on their own phone. There are no accounts. Instead each diary has a short code.

  1. On your phone, open Settings and tap Share code.
  2. On their phone, they open the app, tap Join a household and enter the code. Pasting the whole message you sent them works too.

Whatever either of you logs then shows on both phones straight away.

Anyone with the code can see and change the whole diary, including photos, so only share it with people you trust.

A new phone, or a lost one

Your diary is not stored only on your phone, so nothing is lost when you change phones, as long as you have the code. On the new phone, open the app, tap Join a household and enter it. Everything comes back.

To keep a copy of the code, go to Settings and tap Save a copy of the code. You can send it to yourself, or save it in Notes. If someone else uses the diary, their phone also shows the code in Settings.

If every phone is lost and nobody kept the code, I cannot get the diary back for you. There are no accounts to reset.

Typed the wrong code, or want a different diary? Go to Settings, then Sharing, and tap Use a different code. It only changes this phone and nothing is deleted. When you enter a code the app looks it up first, and says so if there is nothing under it, which usually means a typo.

Using it without signal

The app opens and works without signal, so night feeds in a room with no reception are fine. Anything you log is sent automatically when your phone is back online. Until then, other phones will not see it.

Backups

In Settings, tap Download a backup. Your phone saves a file with every feed, poo and moment. It includes your photos, so keep it somewhere private. It is worth doing now and then.

Settings and how the app looks

Is it medical advice?

No. Expected times, totals and trends come from what you log. They help you notice patterns, not tell you what is right for your baby. If you are worried about your baby's feeding, weight or health, speak to your health visitor, midwife, GP or NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.
