Privacy

Little Sips is a private diary for parents. Here is plainly what it keeps and who can see it. Last updated 19 October 2026.

What the app keeps

What it does not do

Where it is stored and who can see it

Everything is stored in a Google Firebase database, on Google's servers in London, in the United Kingdom. Anyone who has your household code can see everything in that household, including photos, so share the code only with people you trust, such as a partner or grandparent. The person who runs the app can also see the database when fixing problems.

Everything the app needs to run, including its text style, is part of the app itself, so opening it does not contact any other company. Only your diary entries are sent to Google's Firebase database.

Keeping and deleting your data

Data stays until you ask for it to be deleted. Settings has a "Download a backup" button that saves a copy of everything to your device. To delete a household, open Settings and tap "Delete this household": everything saved under the code is removed from the live database straight away, for everyone who uses it. Copies of the database that Google keeps for recovery are cleared on their normal schedule. A small marker with the deletion date is kept so that other phones can be told, and it holds no diary content. You can also email the address below with your household code and it will be removed.

Who is responsible, and why the information is held

I, Lewis Dezso, am responsible for the information in the app (in data protection terms, the controller). I hold it to run your diary and for nothing else. Feeds, poos and photos of a baby can be health information, so when you start or join a household you are asked to agree to this page and the terms, and that is the agreement I rely on. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the household.

Your rights

You can ask me what is held about your household, have mistakes corrected, have everything deleted, and take a copy (the backup in Settings is a copy of everything). Most of this you can do yourself in the app. For anything else, email me. If you are unhappy with how your information is handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The app is for parents and carers, not for children to use. Information about the baby is entered by the parent who looks after them.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top will change and the new version will be on this page.
